Is Champneys spa posh?
It’s a health farm – not a posh 5 star spa. The spa tretaments, location, staff are excellent. The rooms are quite average – tiny bathrooms with plastic shower curtains that stick to you and hot and cold shower taps that require the finesse of a safe cracker to get the temperature just right.

Which was the first Champneys?
Champney is the brand name of a destination spa group, comprising four spa resorts and six day spas owned by the Purdew family. The first spa in the group was Henlow Grange. Others include Eastwell Manor and Mottram Hall.
