- Hold the piping bag nearly perpendicular to the flower nail.
- The wide part of the piping tip should be facing out and the narrow part is facing the center of the flower nail.
- Nearly touch the parchment with the piping tip, squeeze the piping bag so icing comes come out.

Piping can be done with most any icing, but I prefer to use royal icing if I am piping on fondant and Swiss meringue buttercream if I am piping on buttercream. Royal icing goes hard and tends not to bleed into fondant, making for a nice clean look that cannot be wiped away easily.

Supplies for Icing Daisy: When making an icing daisy, you will need a piping bag fitted with a #104 piping tip and thick icing. The icing consistency is very important when making flowers. If it is too thick, like in the picture above, you will not be able to get the icing to come out of the piping tip.

Hi Pamela, Yes you can use royal icing to pipe your borders on a fondant cake. You can also use buttercream icing.
Can I use whipping cream under fondant?
hi madeitwithlove is right , the cream cannot go underneath fondant and if it is used as a filling then there is a max time for health and safety reasons the cake can be left out and then it would need stabilising.
